THE OCTOBER SPECIAL EVENT scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 19th has been rescheduled to Monday, October 24th.  Your child's class will follow the same time schedule.

Saturday Enrichment Program

Our Saturday Enrichment Program will take place on five consecutive Saturdays, starting October 22 through November 19.  We are offering Parent-Child Story Time and Parent-Child Music Time.  These programs are designed for the preschool child, accompanied by a parent.  Young siblings are welcome. Our staff members will be running this program which is free to all NIS families.  Look in your child's backpack for further information. 

Incredible Years Parent Education Workshop

The Incredible Years Curriculum is a nationally known curriculum that NIS uses to help develop positive social emotional development in our students.  We are offering an eight session series of workshops to parents to discuss ways to increase positive behaviors and manage negative behaviors in the home.  Topics include better limit setting, reward and incentive programs, how to better praise your child, how to apply consequences for behaviors, and how to use attention to change behaviors.

The workhops will be offered in the daytime and in the evening and will be run by an NIS psychologist.  Look in your child's backpack for more information.

OPEN SCHOOL NIGHT

Thursday, October 6, is our Open School Night.  The parents and guardians of our students are invited to attend to learn more about your child's program and to meet the staff.  Our evening begins at 7:00 with a visit to your child's classroom.  This will be followed at 7:30 by a general meeting in our Open Space. We look forward to seeing you!

Parent Reminder - Upcoming School Holiday Closings

School will be closed on Thursday, September 29th and Friday September 30th for Rosh Hashanah.  School will re-open on Monday. October 3rd. 

School will be closed on Monday, October 10th for Columbus Day. 
School will re-open on Tuesday, October 11th.

Special Event for September

Our Special Event for September will take place during the week of September 26..  Each class be scheduled for an individual time and parents are invited to join their child's class at that time. Much of this month has been spent on helping the children learn about themselves, their families and their likes and dislikes. During the Special Event, parents will help their child create a self portrait using a variety of materials. 

Weather Does Not Stop Family Fun Night

Threats of rain did not stop our Family Fun Night.  Luckily the rain held off and we were able to welcome our new and returning families in our outdoor event area.   Our sudents and their siblings enjoyed the Bounce House, the Fun Maze, bowling, golfing, creating sand art and all our other activities.  Cotton Candy was the most popular snack with ice cream running a close second.  Thanks to all our staff members who volunteered their time, and of course thank you to all our families for giving us the opportunity to get to know you even better!
